Welcome to the first edition of the Somerset Estates newsletter. We hope you’re all keeping safe and well, and aren’t too affected by the second national lockdown.
We are excited to share the news of Barry Breed’s new appointment as Business Development Consultant at Somerset Estates. We are delighted to be working alongside Barry and to form this new partnership of opportunities.
With the ongoing national lockdown and travel restrictions preventing families from visiting their second homes, we are operating as usual, ensuring that vacant properties are protected and not vulnerable to threats. The past year has been challenging for most, and amidst the magnitude of difficulties and stresses that those around us have experienced, worrying about property shouldn’t be one of them.
At a time where the immediate space around us is getting more and more attention, we wanted to turn to some of the wonderful people we work with to showcase the approach we would take together in transforming spaces in prime properties. Philippa Somerset put the questions to Matteo Bianchi, Interior Designer and Elizabeth Marsh, floral designer – both of which know how to spread a little magic in their work!
If there is one thing I have learnt from working at Somerset Estates, is that it’s invaluable to ensure you work with the right partners. We want to work with those who, at their core, share our values and put the needs of their customers above all else.
The London square, from its initial development in the mid-seventeenth century to the present day, is a very ‘English phenomenon’ which would come to define the physical landscape of London’s metropolis, apprise urban planning and bring about social change. Over time, the squares have had a huge impact on the values of many prime residential properties surrounding them and for many, continue to do so.
Spending more time at home over the recent weeks has never been more important, so it’s hardly surprising that there has been a vast leap in demand for countryside living, with rural second properties and metropolitan homes with outside spaces becoming more sought after.
The UK outlook and property landscape is starting to change, as the measures imposed to control the coronavirus crisis are being eased.
Over the past two weeks some restrictions have been lifted gradually, giving us hope of moving onto the next stage of recovery. Properties will begin to re-open, so if you require the best possible advice on how to manage them as effectively as possible, we are only a phone call away.
