Meet the team – Kristis Doritis

As Senior Property Manager, Kristis is responsible for all aspects of property management within Somerset Estates. 

So, who better to ask about his career journey and discover why working in property is his passion!

What is your job at SE and what is your background? 

I am a Senior Property Manager at Somerset Estates. I came to London to study business management but I have always had a passion for real estate. I worked for a developer for a year following the completion of my degree and then went to Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School) and completed a real estate postgraduate degree.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same in our industry. The complex and technologically advanced properties that we manage at Somerset Estates require daily management to ensure that all aspects are working as they should. My day will usually start at the office to catch up on emails and the Property Managers and then visit one of the properties to carry out routine checks or to respond to an emergency.

What is your favourite part about your job at SE?

I love the client-facing aspect of my job. I enjoy exceeding clients’ expectations and through that, forging deep relationships with them.

Now you’re a Senior Property Manager, what do you like about having additional responsibilities?

I enjoy the fact that my added responsibilities enable me to bring together two of my strongest attributes: managing the property managers’ team and committing to impeccable attention to detail for our clients.

What positive impact does being a senior property manager have on the team around you and on your clients?

I think my passion for my work shines through in all my interactions with clients and colleagues alike and I hope that creates a positive impact.

As a Senior Property Manager, if there is one thing you think homeowners should know, what is it?

Issues will always arise when owning a super-prime property as there are so many components to take care of to ensure that the house operates smoothly. In my experience, what Private Clients want in our industry is the reassurance that I, as a single point of contact, supported by the team, am always available to assist when said issues arise. That is exactly what we, at Somerset Estates, sets us apart from other property management companies.  

Can you share an interesting fact about property management?

People who are interested in working in our industry should know that there are no “switch off” days. Once, I was in a movie theatre with my partner and had to leave in the middle of the movie to respond to an emergency. Some people might think of this as something negative, but for me it points to the difference in the service that we provide compared with other companies, and I am proud of it.
